Absolutely loved this place - came on a warm autumn day and sat outside for a Macha latte and cake.Was so nice to sit out overlooking the river.I had lunch earlier so only did dessert but around us everyone was eating lunch and it smelt so good. Will definitely be back to eat a proper meal.Was suprised that the place was not so busy.

Despite its very central location (aka tourist Hotspot), the prices are very reasonable and the food is even better. Try the Macha tea ice cream for dessert, pizzas are spot on too.

Very tasty risotto, pizza, and ginger lemon soda. Outside and inside seating, fresh lobster and seafood. Fresh orange juice and handmade sodas.

A clean, bright, relaxing cafè nestled beside one of Hiroshima's seven rivers. The menu is varied and offers traditional Italian style food. The pizzas are thin and crispy, the salads are fresh and crunchy, and the vinaigrettes are zesty and refreshing. If you have room for a dessert, check out their selection of ice-creams too. I'd recommend the Lemon Sherbert flavour. An enjoyable place to dine that won't hit your wallet too hard.

Cafe Ponte is probably the best outdoor dining option in Hirohsima city center. I can feel a little strange to be sat outside enjoying a glass of wine and some tasty food just a few meters from Hiroshima's main memorial sites, the A-bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Park, but if you can get over that, it's a great place for lunch, dinner (and breakfast on weekends). There is inside seating, but it's the terrace is where it's at. They have some nice heaters that make it pleasant even in the chillier months. The menu is pretty European, but they do have a good range of dishes featuring local oysters. They have a well marked menu showing vegetarian (though I'm not 100% sure about the cheese they use) and gluten free dishes.It seems like the kitchen is quite small so you can end up waiting a while for food when it's busy, but it is a very pleasant place to wait. The staff are generally pretty nice and do their best to serve customers in English if you don't speak Japanese.

Great food .My son who is a foodie says this pizza is awesome one of the best.The staff is so sweet and considerate ,I accidentally dropped the glass and broke it.They brought a fresh drink for me.So good to see.Many thanks.

Great spot next to the river and close to a lot of key sites around Hiroshima city. It’s also across from the river boat terminal. The views from the cafe are excellent especially on a nice day where they can open the windows and one can sit outside. The food and drinks were delicious and served in a timely manner. The staff was also helpful and spoke English if needed.

We enjoyed perhaps the best pizza we've ever had here. The atmosphere was lovely and even though it was February, we loved sitting outside and enjoying homemade gingerale. Staff were lovely and we would highly recommend this little spot for either a sit in pizza or take away!

Cute little cafe and super convenient location only a 2 minutes walk from Peace Memorial Museum. The staff is really nice! The food was great! It was set at a very good price as well. Their lunch set is definitely worth it!

Lovely Italian restaurant right next to the Hiroshima Nuclear Bomb Ruins Garden. A good stopover place before your next sightseeing spot during lunch or just for a summer beer. Food is very delicious and well prepared. River view and penetrating sunshine are good food companions even you go there alone. Lovely.

OK, so this place looks like a tourist trap. It's certainly priced like one. But goddamn. The food is really, really good. The drinks are perfect for the setting, the river and the sky and the park come together nicely. I planned to be here for one drink, stayed for 2 courses and 3 drinks. It was delightful.

Stop by for a quick bite to eat, I was in a mode for pizza. Very welcoming with a family with a stroller, greatly appreciate the owner for having this kind of business. The pizza was great (best so far since living in Japan), Caprese Salad was good fresh tasting. Mosow Mule was good as well.

Lovely place just near Peace Memorial Museum, nice atmosphere, well-mannered staff. We had a great cappuccino.

Really lovely location right next to the peace park, set along the river with a picturesque view. The food was rich and flavourful. We especially enjoyed the oysters and the risotto. The grilled vegetables came drenched in a vinaigrette that tasted and smelled pungently like soap but I couldn't figure out what the offending ingredient was. Unfortunately the waitstaff were not very helpful, but not rude, either so we didn't mind too much. The portions were somewhat bigger than we anticipated.

Excellent location especially if you can get the outside seating. Waking distance from the dome and the museum as well. Mostly Italian cuisine. They do customise on request. Since we do not eat pork and beef they made the food without those.

Great place to eat after going to the Hiroshima peace memorial museum!

Not only is the food great here, but they have a pretty great gluten free menu! That's right, an actual menu of gluten free options. These include pastas, risottos, and several appetizers. Also delicious lemon sorbet gluten free as well. Aside from great gluten free stuff, the rest is great too. I've been living in Japan for two years, so some actual Italian was a hearty welcome. Full disclosure, we ate there two days in a row.

This restaurant offered credit card payment at table, which was rare but convenient, because most other Hiroshima restaurants required customers to pay at cashier.Great location with nice service and food quality. Good for dining alone and in small groups, from day to evening. Freshly made orange juice was impressive. The ice cream stand on the roadside was popular, especially in the hot and humid summer time.

We ordered pizza and an oyster dish. The oyster dish was really good. The pizza had the typical Italian style with a Japanese twist in terms of the toppings.The service is great and very quick.It has a stunning view of the river which makes it very relaxing to have lunch or dinner overlooking the river. They do have a few outdoor tables which is where I would recommend to sit to enjoy the beauty of the area.

Love the lobster/oyster linguine. Food here is tasty and fresh. They have a lot of wine choices. I tried the glass red which is good. Lunch set is a value choice

Awesome original Italian food with a perfect view

I love this cafe. Many foreign tourists come here as this restaurant serve the european menu. The location is close to Horoshima Dome. The ambience is good. The price of the foods are affordable

We had a great lunch at Cafe Ponte. The staff is very professional and the cafe is located just by the river, which makes for a lovely atmosphere. The lunch menu is excellent, as are the oysters. I highly recommend it!

It's a pity that some people have given this place bad reviews as we have never had a bad experience. On our first visit, we thought it might be a tourist trap but the ferry landed us close by, we were hungry and we thought we might as well try it. A revelation. We sat inside, the food was straightforward Italian but well done. We were pleasantly surprised. We have since come back on a number of occasions and often sat outside and dined al fresco. Never once have we been disappointed. And the view is interesting outside, and it is just like eating in Italy on a hot summer's day.

Amazing pizza fab location - what's not to like!

We loved Cafe Ponte. For starters, it is ideally situated at the corner of the bridge that leads to the Hiroshima Peace park. You can get a good table on the outside with a lovely peaceful view of the bridge.The menu has pasta, pizza and oysters as well as a take out counter that gives you hot dogs and gelato. We had a chicken mushroom pizza and cheese grilled oysters for dinner that were enjoyable. Next evening nwe went back for coffee cakes and hotdogs.The place is well priced for the food and the view and the staff is polite and friendly. I would love to visit again!

Decent Italian pizza and pasta dishes for a reasonable price. Lots of outdoor seating and good for a quick lunch or early dinner. Has a view of the river and they do fresh juices and good coffee in the mornings.
